Yasu suspects she is pregnant, and her appetite increases accordingly.
Fischer spends the morning baking to satisfy Yasu's cookie craving. And after going through a batch of fresh chocolate chip, she finds these old double chocolate with candy pieces cookies in the back of the freezer.
Fischer figures he should be excited over the fact that Yasu and Kirk are actively trying to give him grandchildren, but he's more apprehensive than anything. It's all happening so fast. It seems like just yesterday, Yasu was a little girl. And Kirk has spent most of his life taking various experimental drug cocktails, trying to destroy his vampirism. That can't be healthy.
But Kirk and Yasu are the scientists, and Fischer is the neurotic pastry chef.
Yasu spends most of her time glued to the invention workbench.
She and Kirk rarely leave the mansion. Outside of extended family, they have no friends. Since this development in Yasu's lifestyle is motivated by a lack of giving a damn, rather than some oppressive anxiety disorder, she doesn't consider herself to be like her father.
Kirk spends his time on more mundane projects, such as solving unsolvable math problems.
And the laundry.
And making this giant piano sing.
When it's safely dark outside, he treats himself to botany. He's always had something of a green thumb.
Rex's mysterious plants resemble glowing pears with rings, once they're mature. Yasu thinks she can use them as some sort of energy source in her inventions. Rex's purpose for them will forever be unknown; no one can imagine what he would want with these things. Surely he wasn't going to eat them? They're just too unstable.
Nighttime is also a good time for paying bills.
Yasu talks Kirk's ear off about her feats of engineering, while in return he shares the highlights of his daily chemistry grind. She's into physics and mechanics, while he's into biology and... even what she'd call, magic. But somehow they make this relationship work.
Yasu shares the big news, and Kirk is thrilled.
"There's barely anything there yet, you goof," she laughs. "Unless your psychic senses pick up something."
"No," Kirk admits, "it's just a brainless clump of cells right now. Like a small cancer. But someday it will be awesome."
"Don't be putting pressure on our kid this early, captain."
Enjoying a burst of fame and wealth from her success in the music industry, Xue sends Yasu and Kirk an expensive fountain as a wedding gift. It has Chinese dragons on the side.
Several days later, a wedding gift arrives from beyond the grave.
Great-Uncle Iago sent the new couple a microwave.
Yasu has a new project involving cut gems and moonbeams and the alignment of the planets.
Kirk goes searching the countryside for rocks she can use. If only the Grady family knew their junkyard property was sitting just feet away from a diamond mine...
Part of being a good citizen is cleaning up after oneself.
Part of being a good vampire is to not spend so long in a cave that you emerge when it's daylight out, but Kirk Khan never claimed to be a good vampire. He longs to be "normal" and diurnal instead of semi-nocturnal.
Yasu never has doubts about starting her family. Kirk is attentive to every detail.
He even gives her roses of her favorite color.
Meanwhile, Fischer has nightmares about this swamp demon thing.
And these bunnies are plotting against him.
Expecting her child any day now, Yasu ascends into Pink Fort to make sure the place doesn't need serious safety renovations or fresh paint.
"I used to play up here for hours at a time," she pokes her head out of a window and winks at Kirk, who stands warily in the shade. "Sometimes I'd even sleep up here."
Yasu and Kirk have a daughter, named Wren.
Super speed helps Kirk scour the fields for fallen gems from space. But with the rising of the sun, he barely makes it home, reduced to a staggering walk.
Wren grows quickly. She has Chauncy's hair and Fischer's eye color.
Though her facial features are distinctly her father's.
Like her genius father, she is fascinated by noises and can easily distinguish one sound from another.
"In this house we will always vote for the immortal Dennis Kucinich."
Fischer's delicious flame fruit cobbler went into the blender, and it looks like oatmeal came out.
Wren hates being locked up!
At least her crib-prison has this cuddly doll to keep her company.
Crafted by Yasu, the doll uses life fruit extract to boost the processing power of a small computer chip, enabling modest AI. Probably not even as good as Cleverbot.
Kirk Khan loves being a daddy.
Obviously pleased with her first child, Yasu wanted another.
Yasu and Kirk's second child is a baby boy. They call him McCoy.
Hating his own geeky name, Kirk was initially against the idea of a child named McCoy Khan-Archer, but Yasu bit him in the face and that solved the argument.
Hawk's ghost turns on the music box to annoy Fischer.
Bonus pic: Kirk Khan as seen in Create-A-Sim.
The image that prompted my boyfriend to say "he looks like a cat."
Click on it (or any of my pictures) to see them in their full-sized glory (or non-glory).

Etc.: Though I made Kirk a computer whiz specifically to be a freelance scientist, I never actually made him hack. This is because hacking hours are at night, and I had him busy doing outside activities at night. He had to go find that blasted pink diamond while Yasu continued to work towards the Inventor's Accolade trophy. Getting the materials for the SimBot Yasu will build was a huge pain and I can't believe I didn't gather them earlier in the legacy. I guess I just didn't plan on rolling inventor (not that any sim can't invent as a hobby).
Vampires are such a pain. Kirk nearly died trying to collect stuff, several times. They're also a bitch at parties, because if you don't get them occupied or inside ASAP, they burn themselves in the sun, say your party sucked and leave.
Iago really did send Yasu and Kirk that microwave. Iago's picture on the pop up message was not only of a living Iago, but a younger (non elder) with blue hair. I was suspicious and used MC to search the town for a clone, but none came up. I guess Iago's ghost appeared later in the wedding night.
Yes I am aware that the swamp demon thing is from spore.
By the way...
McCoy
Khan
Archer
*cough* Archer is also a Star Trek captain, but I dislike the series he hails from, and his little dog too, and I refuse to speak of it again.
Double Squee for the Dennis Kucinich reference.
ReplyDeleteWren is an awesome name. As is Mccoy, of course.
My Sims also get wedding presents from the grave. Gibson and Jasmin both sent gifts to Darryl and Corrine. And their graves aren't even on the lot, and the wedding was in the late morning and over by late afternoon. Weird.
I bought my pink heart diamond at the consignment store.
Lucky! The consignment store absolutely hates me.
ReplyDeleteKirk had to go find 10 different gems on top of that. Eventually I had to send him to France to do so.
AT LAST! A REFERENCE TO CLEVER BOT. You have no idea how long I was waiting for that. It was sort of a given SOMONE would mention it sooner or later.
ReplyDeleteD'aaaaw, their babies are so cute. And I love their names. Yasu wins for my second favourite character in your legacy. Its official. Because she's amazing.
I like Yasu a lot. ^.^
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately both Wren and McCoy are the mirror image of their daddy.
