Chapter 34: Untitled

Jazz finds his second rainbow butterfly. Still no sign of the rainbow beetle; he may die before his terrarium collection is complete.

Kendell Simovitch and Rickie Remington (formerly Rickie Hill-Archer) use their cell phones in the salon to discuss the sensitive details of the case Kendell wants Rickie to handle.

I didn't realize resident sims could take private investigator jobs on their own, but with a name like Rickie Remington, the game apparently just had to make it happen.

Not recognizing Carolyn in her new teenage form, Martin greets her like he's never seen her before in his life.

Carolyn was pleased with Martin's work. The heavy eye shadow makes her nose look less pronounced.

Martin will now model for us the seven stylist uniforms he has been given, in no order.

Pic #1 meh

Pic #2 ok

Pic #3 =(

Pic #4 bland

Pic #5 Martin has the right idea. They look like PJs.

Since we've already seen uniform one and seven, we'll move on to Garry Broke's new swimwear. Martin doesn't always put a lot of artistic effort into the make-overs, when he knows the client is an idiot.

Pavel thinks about girls.

Melody's nephew and Kendell Simovitch's son, Edmund, threatens to kill Martin if he lets anything bad happen to Melody. Edmund then proceeds to argue with his hands, alternating between a deep voice and a falsetto. Disturbed, Martin goes home for the night.

Pavel discovers why he's forbidden to use the time machine.

As soon as Martin walked in the door, Sacha informed him of a party he'd been invited to.

People are talking about Martin all over town. He's the must-have stylist of the season, the most fashionable man in Riverview. Everyone wants him at their parties... but these "fashionable" parties aren't the type of parties a party animal like Martin can enjoy. They're stuffy, snobby and boring, and Martin finds himself contemplating the ceiling rather than socializing with the Riverview elite... even though, being an artistic genius, he could simply talk about art and make everyone happy. Meanwhile, his phone rings constantly, informing him of some loser who can't decide between a gold watch or a silver one.

Kacey Cantina, usually only seen speaking to other vampires, makes an exception for Martin.

Her mother may have recently passed on, Kacey explains, but her work as governor was so important and far-reaching it's like she's governing from beyond the grave.

With Pavel tending the graveyard as his part-time job and Marty dying of boredom at a party, Sacha and Jazz have some time to themselves, in the big house they've made.

Melody ages to young adult and is immediately on the Archers' doorstep, in tears. What has Lori said to her this time?

It doesn't matter. Melody wants to begin a new life, with her new family. Sacha and Jazz are happy to accept Melody into their home officially; she's already been like a daughter.

To celebrate her freedom from her insane mother and the other Grisbys, Melody gets a tattoo.

"A knife for violence," Melody explains, "because separation is a violence that occurs in the heart. And the green and the leaves for the new life that can grow because of it."

Rita thinks she did a pretty good job with this tattoo, but isn't impressed by the explanation of it.

Pavel is walking home from work when suddenly there's a flash of red. He's become a man.

No amount of cheesy posing will make the panda shirt load properly tonight.

But technically the panda shirt still exists, and Martin has had enough of it. He attacks the second his brother's back is turned.

Pavel recovers quickly.

"I'm joining the police force like I said," he says. "Like I talked about when we were younger. As a supernatural, I think I'm more than cut out for it. But I feel all cramped in this house. I'm going to go try the adventuring thing. As in, like, I'm gonna move out, bro. I want to pave my own way. You can stay here and keep being a mama's boy."

"But... but... but you look... like you're trying to be Irish."

Pavel sighs. "That's seriously all you have to say, isn't it."

Pavel bids his parents goodbye. Sacha gets a bit teary-eyed; she'd hoped all of her family could stay together. Jazz held no such expectations of his children, and is happy if they're happy. Though he is not above commenting on his son's new look.

"Son, you look like you're trying to be Irish."

Etc.: Drab stylist uniforms are drab.

Pavel and Arthur turned out rather muscular, in comparison to Martin. Funny.

Jazz may not find the rainbow beetle, but he has completed all of the collector skill challenges. You may now address him as Awesomest Rock Collector in the Universe.

Melody's full set of traits are friendly, over-emotional, loves the outdoors, vehicle enthusiast, and good sense of humor. Martin got genius, friendly, loves the outdoors, artistic, and party animal.

  1. I'm gradually making my way slowly through these chapters to try to get caught up. But I just had to pause here and say that Pavel's a hottie.

I'm so interesting when I comment on things.

  2. Haha... surprisingly enough, you aren't the first person to feel that way about one of Martin's brothers.

Luckily they both hang around in town practically forever. ;)
